Who is Blas Gibler Álvarez-Tostado
Born into a bilingual and bicultural family with Mexican and American heritage, Blas Gibler has lived in Venezuela, Mexico, US, and Canada. He masters both of his native languages Spanish and English.
Blas has more than 40 years of experience in translations. He started in high school, at a Carmelite Seminary, translating classics and Church texts from Latin and Greek, as part of his academic preparation. In his professional experience as a translator he has specialized in business fields such as finance, insurance, logistics, marketing, human resources, sales, economics, international commerce, accounting, energy, and ecology, among others. Blas has also done written translations dealing with technical manuals, construction and plant contracts, and operation manuals for machinery and equipment.
Blas Gibler has also translated articles and publications in the fields of art, theater, dance, and history, and also hundreds of resumes.
He holds a BA degree in Business with a Diploma in Foreign Trade from the University of the Americas in Puebla, Mexico (1972) and an MBA from the same university (1974).
Blas has worked for Ford Motor Company of Mexico, Yamaha of Mexico, Acermex, and Superservicio (Ford Dealer in Mexico) and in the US Army (Logistics, Personnel).
Having also taught at University level, at present Blas is the Student Coordinator for the Business and Management School of the IEST (Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Tamaulipas), member of the Anáhuac University System.
